So... I just realised there's this Korean equivalent of あいのり (which I used to love watching)
Called 'The Romantic' knew about it cause they're having an idol version in about 2 days and one of the idols is Mir (from MBLAQ) It's quite a short series, 6 episodes long. I couldn't find subs for the 2nd season so yup... only watched the first season The first 3 episodes was cute and fluffy. Then from then on you could just predict the ending and the heartbreaks that's gonna follow. I prefer the way of confessing in あいのり instead of The Romantic. In 'The Romantic', at the end of 10 days the girls are placed at several locations and the guys walk over to them If they wanna confess to the girl then they stay at the girl's position, else they move off to the next girl. Thus, it ends up with situations where some girls have no guys confessing to while others have like almost everyone confessing. (which is just URGH. GUYS IS THERE ONLY LIKE ONE SINGLE TYPE OF GIRL TO DATE IN THE WORLD?!?! You know the cutesy type.) In あいのり, at the end of each place they travel to, one person can choose to confess to the person they like (though if I don't remember wrongly, the Iceland episode had more people confessing) So there's like a chance for the girl to confess to the guy whom she likes even though she knows he won't reciprocate her feelings. (There's this particular grp ones which I liked a lot. will talk about it later) Whereas in 'The Romantic' *spoiler alert* Eunji didn't get to confess at all! Like all the guys just left her there and she couldn't confess at all. I mean yes we know that the guy probably won't reciprocate her love BUT can't you let the poor girl confess her love and let the 10days end better for her. And she's so lovely and all you know At the start of the series I really liked her and Yoorim (though Yoorim later seemed more like a fool in love and fell in love with whichever guy treated her nice first) I often wonder why guys don't like these kind of girls They're pretty, sporty, cheerful and very pleasant to be with but just.. no one dates them. WHY GUYS WHY? I have friends around me who are like her and they're still single! WHY GUYS! Go jio my friend! I believe she deserves to be loved too! And ah the couples in 'The Romantic' are rather predictable. Like you look at the guy and you'll think "dude's gonna like xxx girl" and he really does =.= Oh oh but 'The Romantic' gives you insight on how guys talk about girls when they're in a guys-only group it's kind of hilarous (but not exactly new to me cause my uni guy friends so no problem talking about these things in front of us) Like how they can't decide who to like and has to try dating every girl before choosing and how they describe girls using anime characters. lol And then you see the girls liking one person from start to end. <3 There's only one single guy who did that though about the 3rd or 4th episode? The guy changed his liking too. Seriously? These guys are like 無魚蝦也好 But well I shouldn't be surprised. I've seen so many already. So yup I would think it's interesting until like the 3rd or 4th episode, then it's full speed angst and total predictability till the end. No surprises here or there. On to my favourite part of あいのり! There was this I'm not sure how many sides love relationship that was quite interesting. So then there is 1 guy and 4 girls. Girl A and Girl B are friends who joined the show together Girl C is a girl older than the guy and Girl D is a super courageous girl whom I admire. The story goes like Girl A likes the guy (let's call him Guy A) and confesses. In this show, if the person you confessed to doesn't like you back, you get sent back to Japan. So Girl A got rejected while her friend Girl B continued touring with the group. Turns out Guy A likes Girl C for a long while already and Girl D likes Guy A So at the next stop Girl D (knowing Guy A likes Girl C) confessed cause she wanted her feelings to get through to him even if there won't be a happy ending <3<3 and then the big twist comes. Girl B who had been encouraging Girl A with her love for Guy A all the while actually secretly likes Guy A too! and in the process of the show, she had actually become BFFs with Guy A Whatever happens isn't much interesting though. Haha. Guy A finds out Girl B's feelings but only treats her as a friend Then he confessed to Girl C and they went back to Japan together. The end. Lol so much ranting so many words so here's a video to make a lighter mood Was laughing my ass off when I watched this yesterday "Whatsup! My name is Stupid! Stupid M style~" lol. |
